Don't be afraid to take things apart or mess with the paper. Through experimenting, we learn. | |||

** Solution: Pull it off before its fully glued on. Adjust and glue again. | |||
* Problem: Part of the pop-up got torn off | |||
** Solution: Use tape to hold the pieces together. | |||
* Problem: The pop-up has become creased in the wrong place. | |||
** Solution: Use some paper to strengthen the plane its on. | |||

Paper Popups workshop
Abstract
Explore the world of pop-ups! How can something 2D become 3D? Learn both the math and magic behind these folding paper sculptures. Take a break and build out a HOPE pop-up book. Participants will be empowered to set off into the exciting world of paper engineering. Stop by any time throughout HOPE 26.

Pop-ups
Pop-ups are a catchall term for dimensional and movable books. These "movables" go back as far as the 1300s. Originally, pop-ups were meant for more adult pursuits: religion, astrology, medicine. However, in the 1700s and 1900s there became a growing audience for pop-up books for children.

Just show up between talks or when you have free time ~
