Abstract

Explore the world of pop-ups! How can something 2D become 3D? Learn both the math and magic behind these folding paper sculptures. Take a break and build out a HOPE pop-up book. Participants will be empowered to set off into the exciting world of paper engineering. Stop by any time throughout HOPE 26.

Full Description

Come sit down and take a break between talks and play with paper!

We will have 3 pages of pop-ups you can do to assemble your very own HOPE pop-up book! Wow! So cool!

From doing the HOPE pop-up book, you will learn the foundational principles of pop-up. You will take home both a physical book and the knowledge to keep going in papercraft.

Any materials needed to participate in this village will be available for you.

Materials:

• Glue
• Scissors
• Pencils, pens, markers

Observers are always welcome.

What to bring

Bring an open mind!

Feel free to bring art supplies like pens and pencils for illustrating your pop-up. You can also bring your own paper (scrapbook, journal, junk mail).
