Abstract

Learn how to make glow-in-the-dark slime!
Making slime is really important. It is also really fun. Making slime that glows in the dark is even more fun. I'll have all of the ingredients, including lots of colors (and a super strong UV light) -- so let's do it!

Glow-in-the-dark Slime!

Recipe

The following recipe is from:

Ingredients:

• 1 cup (237 ml) warm water
• 4 ounces (118 ml) clear non-toxic liquid glue (note: if you use white glue, the slime will be opaque!)

       NOTE: 4 ounces = 0.5 cup (118 ml)

• 3 tablespoons (44 ml) green or clear glow in the dark craft paint
  

   or: 1 teaspoon (5 ml) glow powder

• 2 teaspoons (10 ml) borax (sodium tetraborate or sodium borate, not boric acid)

Steps:

1. 1. Stir the glue and 1/2 cup (118 ml) of the warm water together until the mixture is uniform.
   2. Add the glow paint (or whatever glow product you’re using) to the glue mixture.
   3. In a separate container, dissolve the 2 teaspoons (10 ml) borax in 1/2 cup (118 ml) warm water. -- It’s fine if it doesn’t all dissolve.
   4. Stir the borax solution into the glue mixture. Use your hands or a spoon to mix the ingredients together to make the glowing slime. You may have excess liquid, which you can discard.
   5. Glow products store light and release it slowly, so expose the slime to sunlight or bright lights to see it glow in the dark. Store the slime in a sealed container when you’re not using it to make it last up to a couple of weeks.

• Add 2 bottles of Elmers School Glue [4 oz each, for total of 8 oz (237 ml) in bowl

       NOTE: 8 ounces = 1 Cup (237 ml)

• Stir in 1 Cup (237 ml) warm water
• Stir in several drops of dye
• Stir in 3.5 Tablespoons (52 ml) of Glow-in-the-Dark Paint
  

   In separate bowl, add 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Borax
      Stir in 0.5 Cup (118 ml) warm water

• Stir in Borax/water mixture
• Enjoy!
